End of the year field trip

I know I'm a little late in posting this but I forgot I had loaded these onto the computer! These pictures are from Seth's end of the year preschool field trip to Hedrick's Exotic Animal Farm in Nickerson. It happened to be be on Brian & my mom's birthday so my parents came along with me & Olivia - Poor Brian had to work:(. The kids had a lot of fun because they got to touch several animals. For those of you who haven't been to Hedrick's, they are a farm and bed & breakfast just outside of Hutchinson. They raise exotic animals and take them to fairs in several states. The kids really liked feeding the giraffes and kangaroos. They also touched camels, zebras, several hairy horses, lots of goats, and several other animals. Olivia did almost get bit by a big pig, apparently she got too close to it's mouth while it was eating, and it scared her pretty good. She even snuck in a picture that was used in the newspaper! Seth (in red) got a little scared when this zebra stuck his nose through the fence. The kids got to feed the giraffes carrots. The kangaroos were incredibly soft, almost like rabbit fur. We fed them apple slices. The kangaroos liked being petted. The jumped away pretty quickly if they got scared though.
